Job Description

The St. Elizabeth Medical Center Level II Trauma Center has immediate full time opportunities for 12 hours shifts (10:30 am - 11:00 pm, 6:30 pm - 7:00 am, and 2:30 pm - 3:00 am ). Per Diem positions are also available.  Our cutting edge ED serves a population in excess of 39,000 and  features 33 private rooms with private bathroom in all acute rooms. We are a designated chest pain center and stroke ready emergency department.

The RN works under the general supervision and direction of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or Clinical Supervisor develops a nursing diagnosis according to the age and developmental level of the patient, and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the standards established by the State Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, ANA Standards of Care, Standards of Emergency Nursing Practice and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Required Skills

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Current licessure or permit as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Maintains BLS, ACLS, Trauma, BMT and Cardiac Monitor Training. TNCC, PALS, ENPC and CEN preferred.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year RN experience required (preferably Med/Surg); previous ED experience highly desired.
